Why Growing Your Email List Is Important to Your Business
You’ve heard people talk about growing their email lists, but is it really that important?
I have to say YES and I’ll explain why below…
But first, if you haven’t signed up for your MiloTree pop-up to grow your email list (plus Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and Facebook followers), definitely do it now. You’ll love how effective it is!
And here are my reasons why I believe growing your email list is important to your business…
Aside from your website, your email list is one of the only other assets you own on the web.
Social media is of course important because it connects you to your audience, allows you to share important updates, and drives traffic back to your site.
But you cannot control it. Why?
Simply put, you don’t own any of your social media accounts. Have you ever posted something you were excited to share on your Facebook page only to see just a few likes or comments?
Fortunately, you have control over your email newsletter. Your email list is full of dedicated followers who regularly open your emails and read your important updates. People are less likely to skip over an email they subscribe to than a post on social media.
Your subscribers can easily become your customers
If you sell products or services you should start building an email list immediately because these are your best potential customers!
People are less selective about who they follow on social media than whose email lists they subscribe to. Because a person’s inbox is like being invited into their living room, it’s much more personal.
So when someone subscribes to your list, he or she is actually showing an interest in your business. And those who are interested in your business are more likely to buy your products and services.
It’s the best way to stay in touch with your community
An email list is the simplest way to share important messages and stay in touch. Chances are people probably check their email at least once a day. So, if you have something relevant to share, and you want to make sure you reach your audience in a timely fashion, your email list is the best way to do that.
So everyone should be growing their list, right?
Not exactly.
If you aren’t selling a product or service there isn’t as strong a case to be made for building your list. The advertising revenue you’d get from traffic to your site from links in your newsletter will never cover the cost of sending emails through a paid email provider (think Mailchimp).
But I would then challenge you to think of a product or service you could build and sell that relates to your brand, so that it becomes necessary for you to grow your list! Another income stream wouldn’t be so bad. 🙂
You can now grow your email list effortlessly from your MiloTree pop-up!
